We returned to Masiphumelele High School on the 5th February to distribute 50 x Qhubeka, Bike4all Bicycles. The learners received these bicycles on the Qhubuka Learn to Earn Programme. Cycle safely and keep working on your grades and goals.
29th January 2019 – Bulumko High School braved the hot sun in Khayelitsha to learn safe cycling. 50 x Bicycles were distributed to these participating learners last November. This was a special bicycle distribution as the Qhubeka Team Dimension Data were all present to present each learner with a bicycle. Today, 23rd January 2019, we were out completing our bicycle safety training to Grade 5 scholars at Alpine Primary School, based in Mitchells Plain.
#Bike4all distributed 20 bicycles to LEAP Science and Maths School based in Langa. This distribution was made possible by funding sponsored by Ubuntu e.V. and Sinclair’s Africa. Thank you to Ngweyesizwe Tiyo and his special learners who expressed their gratitude by performing a few songs from their talented choir. We look forward to exciting new projects happening in Langa.
#NewBikeDay for 50 school children from Matthew Goniwe Memorial High School in Khayelitsha who earned their bicycles through a Qhubeka Charity learn-to-earn programme. Paulos Makalima’s training under the tutelage of Sulaiman Jones from Bicycling Empowerment Network (BEN) who’ll teach and mentor Paulos in his journey to becoming a mechanic at the Velokhaya ‘BEC’.
Paulos arrived at Velokhaya in 2011 as a security guard and has held his position to date. He has shown dedication, hard work, discipline, respect and above all passion! We wish Velokhaya and Paulos all the best in his new adventure.
